Here are the main types of grooved pipe flange:

Welded grooved flanges:

These are flanges that are welded directly onto the pipe. They provide the strongest and most rigid connection.

Loose grooved flanges:

These flanges have grooves that are not welded to the pipe. They use grooved bolts or couplings to connect to the pipe. They allow for easier disassembly.

Blind grooved flanges:

A flange welded on only one side of the pipe. Used where space does not allow a flange on both sides.

Grooved Pipe Flange

O-ring grooved flanges:

Contain an internal groove that houses an O-ring to provide a sealing surface between the flange and mating component.

Ductile iron grooved flanges:

Made of ductile iron which is thicker and stronger than cast iron. Used for higher pressure applications.

Grooved stub ends:

Flanged fittings without the radial groove, used to easily transition from grooved to standard threaded or flanged systems.

Laterals/branches:

Special flanged fittings shaped to join grooved pipe at bend/angle locations rather than straight runs.

Proper selection depends on factors like connection method needed, pressure rating, pipe material and configuration of the system. Welded are strongest but loose allow disassembly.
